Dear Practitioner,
We would like to invite you to the 2nd annual MD Solutions Snow Sports Medicine Conference which will be held at the Rydges Jindabyne from Tues Aug 7 to Thurs Aug 9. Last year was a great success and everyone enjoyed the quality of the presentations, meeting like minded practitioners and of course the amazing snow we had!

It is open to all Sports Medicine practitioners and there will be presentations from 4:30 to 7:00 pm on all three evening’s with apres-ski nibble platters and refreshments on offer. On the last night will be an all-inclusive cocktail party to close the event. Topics will cover:
- Mary Nicolas (Podiatrist) from City Feet Clinic will present an over-view and review of case studies on the use of Radial Shockwave Therapy as an adjunct treatment to treat various chronic lower-limb musculoskeletal indicatons
- Dry Needling Presentation by qualified Instructor Marty McCullock (Osteopath)from CPD Health Courses and there will be both theory, including a review of current evidence and a live demonstration.
- Sam McCarthy (Osteopath) from Better Health Osteopathic & Integrative Medicine will be presenting on the integration of Radial Shockwave Therapy SWT into ‘his version’ of Osteopathy which is a focus on fascia, needles, tissue histology and RSWT, what he has learnt to date and where he feel's it could go
- Mike Smith, owner of First Tracks Snowboard shop and veteran Alpine Snowboard competitive racer will provide an overview on Snowboard equipment and pitfalls of incorrectly fitted gear
- Krista Sturday (Podiatrist and Master Boot Fitter) from Ortho Ski will present on ski equipment hardware and it’s role in ski injuries and how to reduce risk. Her business partner Ray Wills (Industrial Designer and Master Boot Fitter) will provide a comprehensive run down on the latest in Ski Boots and an overview on how to match the right boot for the skier
- Dr Phil Lucas, musculoskeletal radiologist at PRP Diagnostic Imaging, will give an illustrative talk on imaging of acute knee injuries.Phil is the managing partner of PRP Imaging Moore Park, and is radiologist to NSW Rugby, Roosters, Sea Eagles and the Sydney Swans
- Performance Nutrition for snow sports and altitude conditions. Current research and application of hydration and nutrition principles. Presented by Sports Nutritionist and Naturopath, Kira Sutherland of Uberhealth
- Kate McDermid (Sports Physiotherapist) from Altitude Physiotherapy, who works with the Australian National Ski team, will give a presentation on her recent experience with the team at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang

The registration fee is $285 + gst and will include:
- Light food and beverages at the beginning of each seminar
- An all-inclusive premium canapes (food had rave reviews last year!) and beer/wine dinner party on Thursday evening from 7:30-11:30pm. Partners and friends are welcome to attend with the purchase of an additional dinner party ticket for $70 + gst
- 20% off accommodation, and all food and drinks purchased, at the Rydges in Jindabyne and accommodation includes breakfast. Please note a minimum 3-night stay is required for the discount and only available on the weekday nights during the Conference so Mon 6 to Thurs 9
- 15% off all equipment hire and 10% of retail purchases Larry Adler at and First Tracks both conveniently located across the road from the Rydges in Jindabyne. Larry Adler also conveniently has locations in Sydney as well.
- Discount lift tickets at Thredbo available via Rydges and can be purchased on the day at the hotel reception. Lift ticket pricing TBC closer to the season but the discount was roughly 15 to 20%. Perisher discount lift tickets are available directly on the Perisher website but please note you need to book in advance and online
