ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

YVONNE SAMPSON

Yvonne started her media career on the Sunshine Coast with Seven Local News. Upon leaving in 2010, Yvonne joined Sky News Australia in Sydney for two years. However, in 2012, the lure of returning to QLD was too good when she joined Nine Network.

2014 saw Yvonne return to Sydney to take a more active role within the Wide World of Sports program. Shortly after her return, she was elevated to increased coverage of sport for Nine News Sydney, hosting Nine’s Friday Night Football and a regular sideline commentator for Nine’s rugby league coverage.

In 2015, Yvonne hosted Footy Classified NRL Finals, which was the springboard for her progression to hosting the Sunday Footy Show. To cap off her outstanding achievements, Yvonne became the first female to spearhead the coverage of Nine’s State of Origin series.

In 2017, Yvonne made the move to Fox Sports where, with Matty Johns, she will spearhead FOX SPORTS’ coverage of NRL as the face of the new FOX LEAGUE channel. Yvonne will host Thursday Night League, Super Saturday and the all-new weekly entertainment show, League Life.

LIBBY TRICKETT

Former Australian Swimmer, Libby Trickett, collected 24 gold medals on the International Stage across Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship events.

This included eight long course and seven short course world titles, five Commonwealth Games and four Olympic Gold Medals.

Her medals at the Olympic level were won at three consecutive Games.

She is currently on maternity leave from her role on Triple M radio as part of the afternoon drive shift – The Rush Hour with Luke, Libby and Dobbo.

SAM SQUIERS

Sam Squiers is an award-winning sports presenter for Nine News Sports and the founder of Sportette.

Sam is currently the Weekend Sports Presenter for Channel 9 Queensland as well as the host of Nine podcast "In Her Court” and Surfing Australia TV. She has also hosted The Isuzu QLD Golf Open, Ocean Thunder Surf Boat Series, the Kelloggs Nutri-Grain Ironman Series, co-hosted TripleM's Dead Set Legends and has been a guest presenter on Getaway.

In 2014, Sam founded Sportette to provide an avenue to tell the incredible stories of our female athletes and it's grown to be a leading think tank on Women's Sports. The inaugural Sportette Summit for Women in Sport and Business was held in 2017.

Sam is also an Australian Ladies Professional Golf (ALPG) Board Director and has recently become a mum to her own little girl, Imogen.
